The Senior Director of Behavior at the ASPCA will oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for animals, ensuring their medical and behavioral welfare. Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient care
Lead and mentor a team of behavior specialists
Develop and implement behavioral diagnosis and treatment plans
Collaborate on research projects related to animal behavior
Maintain high quality behavioral records
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with all levels of staff
Comfortable with humane euthanasia decisions and procedures
Fear Free certification within 6 months of hire
Low Stress Handling – Silver certification or ability to obtain within first year
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in developing/overseeing research projects
Interest in writing scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals
