Join Verizon as an Outside Plant Technician, where you will ensure the optimal condition of our outside plant facilities. This role involves hands-on tasks in construction and maintenance, ensuring our network operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant including aerial, underground, submarine, and buried cables
Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching hardware
Reading and interpreting engineering work orders
Performing construction work using designated equipment
Operating Company motor vehicles to transport equipment
Climbing ladders and poles, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs
Working evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as needed
Required Qualifications
Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
Preferred Qualifications
A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience
Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training
