ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

  • Location: Portland, Oregon 97213
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
  • Healthcare Setting: ICU, Short-Term Acute Care Hospital
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts per week
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2010 - $2160
  • On-Site Nursing Position
  • Parking: Free
  • Scrub Color: Any color
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Floating: Required within hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals (vehicle required)

ICU RN Qualifications

  • Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferred
  • Experience with Epic charting system
  • Clinical skills in ventilator management, dysrhythmia interpretation, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
  • Must have a vehicle for floating to nearby healthcare facilities
  • Ability to work every other weekend and some holidays
  • Two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU
  • Monitor and manage complex patient conditions, including ECG, oxygen saturation, pulmonary artery pressure, cardiac output, and advanced cardiac devices (VAD, IABP, pacemakers)
  • Administer vasoactive intravenous medications and manage CRRT, ECMO, and therapeutic hypothermia
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
  • Float to other hospital units or affiliate healthcare facilities as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic electronic health records
  • Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to variable patient ratios (1:1 or 1:2)
