Job Description
Join Interstate Waste Services as a Diesel Mechanic and be part of a progressive team focused on quality waste and recycling services. You'll perform vital maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection, diagnosis, and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
Repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
Utilize diagnostic software to interpret failure modes
Assist with emergency breakdowns when on call
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
Experience with heavy duty diesel equipment or training from a recognized trade school
Ability to speak and read English
Meet physical and safety requirements of the position
Provide own tools
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years experience as a heavy duty Diesel Mechanic
Experience with troubleshooting/repairing DPF systems and diagnostic software
Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
