Join Akron Children's Hospital as a Regional Float Medical Assistant II, providing vital clinical and administrative support across various Pediatric Practice locations. This full-time role offers the opportunity to enhance patient care while working in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for examination and record vital signs
Perform phlebotomy and administer medications as directed
Collect and process laboratory specimens
Communicate patient findings to Providers and Licensed Nurses
Document care accurately within EPIC system
Perform appointment scheduling and patient tracking
Maintain examination rooms and perform general office duties
Develop positive relationships with patients and staff
Participate in departmental process improvement projects
Follow safety policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program, EMT Program, or Paramedic Program
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Knowledge of medical terminology
Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in phlebotomy
Experience working in healthcare environment
Experience working in electronic medical record (i.e., EPIC) or similar software
