Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (3 shifts per week)

• Every other weekend requirement

• No on-call responsibilities

• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends

• May float to other units within scope of practice or to different campuses (Hawthorne or Herrick)

• 1.5 hour notice provided prior to shift start for floating assignments with shuttle service available

• Work in Medical Surgical/Orthopedics Department serving adult and geriatric patients

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and California RN License (all must be AHA certified)

• Epic charting system experience preferred

• 2 years of nursing experience required for submission

• Travel experience required

• Must complete 12 hours of orientation and non-billable modules (1-5 hours average)

• Perform comprehensive nursing care including medication administration, patient assessments, care planning, and patient education

• Skills required include IV management, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and various medical/surgical procedures

• Work with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy

• Lab draw skills required

• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing

• Only one holiday time-off request will be approved during assignment

This healthcare facility operates as part of a comprehensive medical system with multiple campus locations. The facility features a modern Medical Surgical/Orthopedics Department with 15 beds serving a daily census of approximately 15 patients. The organization provides extensive interdisciplinary support services and maintains high standards for patient care delivery. The facility utilizes Epic electronic health records and offers comprehensive orientation programs for traveling nurses.
