PACU RN Job Details – Vermont Healthcare Jobs

• Location: Burlington, VT 05401 (Vermont nursing jobs)
• Facility Type: Large teaching hospital – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Assignment Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 3/8/2026)
• Shift: 10-hour evening shifts (10:00am–8:30pm and 12:00pm–10:30pm), some Saturdays required
• Hours per Week: 40
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing (W2)
• Holiday and weekend coverage required

PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for Vermont
• Minimum 2 years of recent high acuity PACU experience (critical care nursing skills required)
• Proficiency with arterial lines, titrating drips, cardiac monitoring, and pediatric patient care
• Experience in a large, teaching hospital setting
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (required for healthcare jobs)
• Infusion specialty preferred
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (no public transportation); vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November–April

PACU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients
• Monitor and manage patients with complex needs, including cardiac monitoring and titrating IV drips
• Utilize advanced critical care nursing skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity PACU environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend coverage
