Job DescriptionA highly regarded corporate client is currently seeking skilled applicants for their opening as a Contracts Paralegal . Individuals in this role will work in the client's Corporate Affairs division, which is responsible for handling all non-litigation matters. The primary directive of this position will be to provide paralegal services to the contract review process. This is a long-term contract position based out of the client's offices in Johnston, Rhode Island .

• Contract Pay Starting at $40/hour
• Long Term Contract - Indefinite Length
• Full-Time, 40 hours per week
• 4 days per week on-site in Johnston, RI

Under the supervision of an attorney, the primary accountability of this role will be to review contracts and draft or revise contractual terms and conditions while assessing risks in various areas including, but not limited to, data privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property, and guiding the internal client accordingly. Candidates need to have deep contracts experience, including drafting and review (not just using templates).

Primary Responsibilities

• Completing the initial legal review and redline of contracts.
• Coordinating with internal business partners, which includes, asking questions to understand the relationship between the parties and services expected to be provided, and assessing the risks associated with a contract.
• Responding to any questions or issues arising from a contract.
• Coordinating as needed on each review with other departments involved in contract review such as Vendor Management and Information Security.
• Ensuring that the administrative processes associated with contract review are followed and maintained.
• Escalating issues as needed within the Corporate Affairs division when there are complex issues or matters requiring special handling.
• From time to time, the role holder may be asked to support more general matters within the Corporate Affairs division.
• Work closely with members of the Corporate Affairs division, in particular the other paralegals responsible for contract review.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies or other relevant area of study.
• Three+ years of significant experience conducting contract review, negotiation and drafting legal language (outside of template usage) for large, complex commercial agreements.
• Ability to think critically, issue spot in a variety of contractual situations, and ask questions when needed.
• Possess a natural curiosity and demonstrate a willingness and ability to continuously learn.
• Business-oriented professional with the ability to balance business needs with legal risks.
• Excellent oral communication and impeccable writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize multiple cross functional tasks.
• Detail oriented.

Lawyers On Demand/Consilio offers non-attorney flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, the candidate’s general skill set, the applicability of candidate's skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors.
