Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll mentor other veterinarians, oversee high-quality procedures, and contribute to the welfare of animals while ensuring a positive work culture.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging and teamwork
Coach veterinarians and others to communicate effectively with clients
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume surgical procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent)
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification is required within 60 days of hire
