Verify patient identity and review medical records
Interview patients to obtain and verify medical history
Explain procedures and potential risks to patients
Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images
Review images and communicate data to radiologist
Recognize and respond to medical emergencies
Provide post-care instructions to patients
Participate in process improvement activities
Provide imaging education to residents and new employees
Required Qualifications
Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS) or registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Sonography (S)
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training
Preferred Qualifications
Registered in specialty within 12 months of employment
