Base pay range

$45.00/hr - $55.00/hr

Syntax Talent Solutions is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to join our client's team in Annapolis, MD. The ideal candidate will have a background in non profit and/or grants accounting. This person will working along side the CFO and be responsible for managing accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the financial decision-making process. This role requires a strong analytical skill set and proficiency in advanced accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.

- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.

- Coordinate and manage audits and tax filings.

- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.

- Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies.

- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of non profit accounting experience.

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
