Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and make a tangible difference in animal welfare. You'll lead a dedicated team, ensuring high-quality veterinary care while fostering a supportive environment for staff and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging, and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter surgical procedures
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule CM staff veterinarians and per diems for optimal coverage
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent) from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Excellent work attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
Fear Free® Shelter certification is required within 60 days of hire
