Description:

Our Vascular Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs physiologic and duplex studies of vascular structures throughout the venous and arterial systems, including spectral analysis and color Doppler displays.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

2. RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required – if registry not currently held, employee must be registered within one year as condition of continued employment.

3. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS or as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

2. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently scan all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).

3. Revenue Management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.

4. Performs all appropriate diagnostic studies including but not limited to duplex ultrasound and physiological procedures for the evaluation of vascular disease.

5. Documents exam results on various media for permanent record and physician evaluation.

6. Maintains appropriate patient charts and logs for billing and quality assurance.

7. Complies with all applicable department and hospital policies.

8. Off-hours call requirement.

9. Demonstrated ability to perform all diagnostic modalities within the Non-Invasive Vascular Lab service.

10. Knowledgeable in vascular ultrasound imaging equipment.
