Job Description
Join ASML as a Laser System Research Architect and contribute to the innovative Source Research team. You will guide the development of cutting-edge laser technologies, working collaboratively in a dynamic environment to advance the future of microchip production.
Key Responsibilities
Guide the development of high-level architecture definitions for laser design
Maintain technology roadmap and guide product pathfinding
Build and maintain model improvement and metrology improvement roadmaps
Identify and maintain bi-directional requirements between lasers and system functions
Identify key scientific learning objectives and experimental design
Demonstrate system-wide performance targets
Develop and execute system and subsystem performance tests
Troubleshoot laser and sub-system issues
Document learning and communicate knowledge to teams
Work independently and in teams to deliver objectives
Required Qualifications
PhD with 4+ years or MS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in laser physics, optics, photonics, electrical engineering or equivalent field
Proven track record of identifying system-level needs and decomposing them into specific technical directions
Understanding of laser physics, engineering and control
Hands-on experience with breadboard laser and optical system design, alignment, and performance characterization
Understanding of scientific research methods and strong scientific curiosity
Ability to clearly communicate ideas and knowledge to various audiences
Demonstrated ability to lead a team while valuing individual input
Preferred Qualifications
Results-driven with the ability to plan and prioritize
Comfortable with a rapidly changing work environment
Ability to work onsite in first, second or third shift as needed
Strong negotiation skills for interacting with other sectors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
