Key Responsibilities
Provide care to patients with acute and chronic illnesses in the neurosurgical service
Oversee patient clinical records, labs, and imaging
Conduct health history and physical assessments of pediatric patients
Conduct preoperative evaluations for patients
Participate in daily rounds and collaborate with healthcare team members
Evaluate patients for routine post-op care and manage complications
Manage communications between healthcare team and patients
Provide after-hours call coverage as part of the Pediatric Neurosurgery APP team
Assist in surgeries and procedures if qualified
Participate in clinical trials and research projects
Engage in community outreach and education efforts
Assist in administrative duties such as staff hiring and training
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program or Physician Assistant's program
Active RN and APRN license in the State of Texas or current Physician Assistant license in Texas
Active board certification as an Acute Care Pediatric NP or PA
Active DEA license or ability to apply prior to or upon hire
Current CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications
Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of experience in pediatric neurosurgical or related surgical practice
Experience with large research projects and clinical trials
