Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care and comfort
Collect, interpret and document patient information
Perform procedures as directed by the Medical Director
Maintain quality control logs for CLIA-waived labs
Perform CLIA-waived labs and take vital signs
Administer medications and immunizations
Document nursing charges
Provide clerical support including scheduling and contacting patients
Perform telephone call reminders for appointments
Adapt care methods to meet patient needs
Support University Health's mission and standards
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card
Preferred Qualifications
National certification as a registered Medical Assistant
One-year experience in a clinic, doctor's office or ambulatory care setting
