Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and comfort
  • Collect, interpret and document patient information
  • Perform procedures as directed by the Medical Director
  • Maintain quality control logs for CLIA-waived labs
  • Perform CLIA-waived labs and take vital signs
  • Administer medications and immunizations
  • Document nursing charges
  • Provide clerical support including scheduling and contacting patients
  • Perform telephone call reminders for appointments
  • Adapt care methods to meet patient needs
  • Support University Health's mission and standards

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • National certification as a registered Medical Assistant
  • One-year experience in a clinic, doctor's office or ambulatory care setting
