Join Cleveland Clinic as a PRN RN in the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program. Provide crucial support and care for individuals affected by violence, ensuring they feel safe and valued. Collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide timely and accurate clinical assessment, care, intervention and documentation for patients who have been sexually assaulted or victims of abuse
Provide forensic evidence collection and/or photography as requested and maintain chain of custody for such evidence
Develop a safety plan before patient's discharge, providing resources for follow up medical care
Collaborate with medical and nursing staff, law enforcement, and other agencies as needed
Respond to designated facility within one hour as part of the on-call schedule
Complete clinical experiences as determined by the SANE course and coordinator
Perform speculum exams and/or pediatric assessments under supervision
Utilize knowledge of anatomy/body structures and forensic evidence collection
Travel to other Cleveland Clinic facilities as needed
Attend continuing education as a Sexual Assault Nurse
Provide clear and concise written documentation and court testimony as needed
Participate in community awareness programs and professional organizations
Required Qualifications
Completion of an IAFN approved SANE Adolescent/Adult Course within 60 days of hire
Completion of an IAFN approved SANE Pediatric course within one year of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
