Shift Details:

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Float Pool Nurse to join our team. This role involves primarily floating to Oncology units but may also include support for all Intermediate Care (IMC), Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele), and holding areas as needed. You will work with a patient ratio of 1:5, providing high-quality care in alignment with the requirements of our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care to oncology patients, including administering chemotherapy and supporting bone marrow transplant clinical trials.
• Utilize electronic medical record systems (Epic) for charting and patient management.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Social Services, to enhance patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medication, and recognize/manage side effects.
• Educate patients and families about treatment options, procedures, and post-surgical care.

Qualifications:

• Active NJ or Compact Nursing License required at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with oncology focus preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and ONS/ONCC Certification are required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is essential.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.

Additional Information:

The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including working every other weekend. All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with your application and will not be accommodated post-offer. Local candidates are welcomed at the same rate.

Floating Requirements:

Candidates are required to float within their skill set, adapting to varying patient acuities and census levels. This role necessitates the ability to deliver care across different units as patients' needs dictate.
