Lead Surgical Technologist | 8-Week Contract | ASAP Start

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Surgical Technologist to join a small and dedicated surgical team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Orthopedic and General Surgery and the ability to take on leadership responsibilities in a collaborative environment.

This role is in a correctional healthcare facility , and the surgical team provides care exclusively for inmate patients .

Key Responsibilities

• Function as the Lead Surgical Technologist , assisting the surgeon and team during procedures.
• Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques and follow surgical protocols.
• Support and guide other OR techs and nurses as needed.
• Handle specimens, instruments, and surgical equipment with precision and care.
• Collaborate with a small, close-knit surgical team to deliver safe and efficient care.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience required.
• Lead Tech experience preferred.
• Experience in Ortho and General Surgery required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a small team environment (1 room, 2 OR RNs, 2 OR Techs, 1 Surgeon).
