Join ECHN as a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist, where you will evaluate and treat patients to improve their speech and language functions. This role offers a chance to make a significant impact on patients' lives through individualized care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluates patients based on departmental standard
Conducts and modifies evaluations based on the patient's symptoms, level of activity, and medical status
Treats patients with appropriate therapeutic techniques
Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to attain established goals
Utilizes effective techniques to assist in normalizing speech and language activity
Educates patients/families in home exercise programs and functional activities
Determines when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommends discharge if appropriate
Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines
Seeks and fosters interdepartmental communication regarding patient care
Accurately fills out and submits charges daily
Adheres to the professional code of ethics established by ASHA
Performs all duties with proper body mechanics and safety
Supervises at least one affiliated student per year
Attends continuing education courses to improve treatment techniques
Participates in departmental or community in-service
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
Holds or is eligible for current Connecticut license
Eligible or has a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
Valid driver's license for occasional travel between ECHN business sites
Preferred Qualifications
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic personal computer skills in Windows-based programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
