Job Description
Join Kaiser Permanente as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor where you'll provide critical counseling and case management for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, offering support and education to members and their families in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual, group, and family clinical services including screening, assessment, diagnosis, and service planning
Document member care in electronic medical records
Participate in program development, in-service training, and process improvement activities
Required Qualifications
Minimum one year working in a substance use disorder treatment setting within the last five years OR completion of KP Addiction Medicine department internship
Masters level degree in counseling, social work, or closely related field
Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee Certification (Washington) or equivalent licensing/certification required at hire
National Provider Identifier required at hire
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum two years of post-masters experience in substance use disorder treatment
Experience in integrated healthcare settings
Experience or training in treating adolescents with substance use disorders
Experience in family therapy
Experience in treating trauma
Experience using Motivational Interviewing techniques
Experience with interdisciplinary treatment teams
Experience working with electronic health record systems
Certified Addiction Counselor in practicing state required at hire
