Job Description
Join Johnson Controls as a Machine Operator where you'll contribute to the production of high-quality HVAC units in a dynamic, hands-on environment. You'll operate metal fabricating machines, ensure safety and quality, and collaborate with teams to enhance efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate various metal fabrication machines to cut, shape, and form metal parts per blueprints and specifications
Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure proper machine setup
Prioritize safety and maintain a clean, organized work area
Inspect materials and finished products for quality, reporting defects to supervisors
Work with cross-functional teams to meet production goals
Identify areas for improvement and optimize production processes
Be available for overtime or shift changes as needed
Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 6 months of machine operation or similar manufacturing experience
Attention to detail and ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents
Ability to stand or walk for long periods on hard surfaces
Comfortable working in physically demanding, noisy, dusty, fast-paced environment, and non-climate-controlled environment
Ability to frequently lift 30-40 lbs and occasionally lift 50 lbs
Ability to perform repetitive motions, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces
Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
2 or more years of machine operation or similar manufacturing experience
Experience operating heavy machinery such as Brake Press, Turret, or Fin Press
Experience programming and operating CNC machines
