Key Responsibilities
Detecting, preventing, and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways
Responding to electronic sensor alarms and interpreting physical evidence
Conducting farm and ranch checks, traffic checks, and city patrols
Using various government assets to fulfill the USBP mission
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
Age under 40 at the time of selection
One year of general or specialized work experience or appropriate education for GL-5 to GL-11 grade levels
Preferred Qualifications
Current or prior law enforcement experience
Ability to speak and read Spanish
