Key Responsibilities
Assesses the patient's condition and determines the needed treatment.
Communicates with the prescribing physician to clarify expectations for the orthosis.
Formulates a comprehensive treatment plan based on input from the prescribing physician, patient, and rehabilitation team members.
Selects appropriate prefabricated or custom orthosis to achieve prescribed outcomes.
Measures and casts patients for orthoses.
Provides instruction on proper use and care of the orthosis.
Documents all patient contacts according to established procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Certified Orthotist - American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABCOP)
