Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health team . The RN will play a vital role in providing safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered psychiatric nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges. This position requires strong assessment skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to foster a supportive environment that promotes healing and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical assessments of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic effects and side effects.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and emotional support to patients in acute distress.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and medication management.
• Accurately and promptly document all aspects of patient care in the medical record.
• Ensure compliance with all facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment aligned with trauma-informed and patient-centered care principles.

Qualifications

• Active IOWA license or compact License.
• At least 1 year of experience as an RN Behavioral Health
• Pediatric/Adolescent BH/Psych experience required
• MOAB/MAB/CPI must be obtained during onboarding if not active
• BLS
