Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Complete complex mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
  • Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Act as mentor for lower-level technicians

Required Qualifications

  • Basic tools
  • Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Basic diagnostics and repairs including AC and electrical systems
  • 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass DOT physical
  • Pass Ryder road test
  • Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or Technical Certification
  • Three years or more relevant work experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A
