Job Description
Join Optum as a Cardiac Sonographer and play a vital role in advancing healthcare. You'll provide essential technical support in the Cardiology Department, performing echocardiography and ensuring excellent patient care while contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Performs 2D, M-Mode Doppler, and exercise stress echocardiography
Provides Patient Centered Care through patient education and timely test results
Compiles timely reports for Cardiologist analysis
Maintains echocardiography equipment and orders supplies
Completes preliminary report form for cardiovascular reporting system
Follows required infection control procedures
Attends required meetings and participates in professional development
Facilitates interdepartmental professionalism and communication
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
Completion of a formal accredited Ultrasound training program
Meets the requirements for registry by ARDMS in adult Echo and Stress Echo
Registry with the ARDMS in Adult Echocardiography within one year of employment if not registered
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound
2+ years of cardiac scanning experience with adult patients
