Key Responsibilities
Prepare and manage surgical instruments and equipment during cardiovascular procedures
Ensure a sterile environment and assist in patient positioning and monitoring
Perform essential scrub functions to facilitate safe and efficient surgeries
Demonstrate superior knowledge of advanced surgical equipment and instrumentation
Conduct instrument counts and maintain an accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments during procedures
Prepare patient skin for surgical treatment and provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase
Maintain current knowledge of anatomy/physiology and medications used intraoperatively
Required Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED plus short-term training in operating room setting or graduate of surgical technician certification from an accredited school
Current BLS certification
Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment
Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique
Minimum of 2+ years experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room if not from an accredited training program
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advanced surgical procedures such as neurosurgery, high risk Pediatric ENT, transplants, robotics, bariatrics, joint replacement, and vascular
