PCU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Youngstown, Ohio (44504) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Unit: PCU/Stepdown – 8SE Neuro (32 beds, high neuro patient ratio)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights; every other weekend and holiday required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; neuro nursing experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Must pass Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide provided)
• Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions in a clinical setting
• Experience with high-acuity neuro patients preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate patient care and serve as a primary contact for families
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in healthcare quality improvement initiatives
• Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure, trauma, and neuro conditions
• Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver holistic care
• Maintain accurate documentation; EPIC EHR experience a plus
• Support patients and families through illness, injury, and treatment decisions
