Position Summary: Sumner Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Orthopedic RN for a night shift travel assignment. This nurse will provide comprehensive post-surgical and rehabilitative care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient status and implement individualized orthopedic care plans
• Monitor post-operative recovery, pain levels, and mobility status
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments including wound care and traction support
• Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and progress accurately using EMR systems
• Collaborate with orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and support staff to optimize patient recovery
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection control, and safety standards

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2+ years of recent experience in orthopedic nursing or surgical units
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Familiarity with joint replacement, spine procedures, fracture management, and mobility devices
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
