Key Responsibilities
Assist in direct patient care by ensuring the Operating Room staff has correct, fully functional, sterile surgical instrumentation
Perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch functions
Maintain a comprehensive body of knowledge regarding standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent experience
One year experience as an operating room sterile processing technician or equivalent
Certification through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) CSPDT or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) CRCST
Preferred Qualifications
Course work in surgical instrumentation or central supply/materials management
