A leading pediatric facility in New Brunswick is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse for a travel assignment. This role offers exposure to high-acuity pediatric care and advanced technologies in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver critical care to pediatric patients with complex conditions including trauma, renal failure, and neurological disorders
- Float to adolescents, pediatrics, PHOC, and NICU based on hospital needs and skill set
- Manage patients requiring:
- CVP and CVVH
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- EKG interpretation and management
- PEWs scoring
- Insulin administration and pump management
- NG tube placement and care
- IV access (ports, a-lines, central lines, PICCs)
- Procedural sedation and IV vasopressors
- EVD, VP shunt, ICP monitoring
- HFNC, ETT, ventilators, tracheostomy care
- Peritoneal dialysis and wound care
- Utilize EPIC for documentation and charting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Comfortable with patient ratios of 1:1–2 and up to 1:3 for intermediate care
- Available to work every other weekend and at least 2 of 3 major holidays
- First-time travelers accepted
Preferred Qualifications
- NIHSS certification
- ECMO experience
