This is a high-trust, hands-on role focused on ensuring the safety, stability, and scalability of the production environment. In this position, you'll collaborate closely with the Head of Production Integrity and work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams. Your core responsibilities will include database operations, CI/CD execution, scripting, and maintaining production observability. If you also have strong backend or full-stack development skills, there will be opportunities to contribute to product engineering as well. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in infrastructure-heavy environments —those who excel at managing SQL safely, automating deployments, maintaining clean runtime conditions, and building tools that promote reliable and repeatable operations. Key Responsibilities Production Operations & SQL Execution Execute production database migrations and rollbacks with accuracy and safety. Develop and maintain custom SQL scripts for tasks such as backfills, reporting, pruning, and cleanups. Monitor database growth and manage log/table pruning to ensure performance. Assist with issue triage and production incident resolution. Deployment & Automation Improve and manage CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows. Create scripts and tools to enhance deployment, rollback, and runtime configuration. Implement and support deployment readiness gates and rollback strategies. Internal Tooling & Platform Support Build internal tools and scripts to streamline developer experience and production visibility. Collaborate with product and platform teams to ensure reliable code delivery. Identify and automate operational bottlenecks to reduce manual friction. Support backend or full-stack product development based on capacity and expertise. Participate in code reviews and collaborate on cross-functional engineering initiatives. Requirements Strong fluency in SQL (PostgreSQL preferred) and production-grade migration workflows. Comfortable operating in production environments with rollback and recovery procedures. Proficiency in scripting languages (TypeScript, Bash, or Python). Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred). Methodical, clear-thinking engineer with a strong focus on operational precision. Bonus: Experience with Prisma, Vite, monorepos, or modern TypeScript-based stacks.
