Join Verizon as an Outside Plant Technician where you'll ensure our outside plant facilities operate at peak efficiency. Your role will involve hands-on work with cables, construction tasks, and vehicle operation to maintain our network's reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant, including aerial, underground, submarine, buried cables, poles, and associated hardware
Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching various kinds of hardware
Reading and interpreting engineering work orders
Performing construction work using designated equipment
Operating Company motor vehicles to transport equipment
Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs
Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as needed
Required Qualifications
Valid state drivers license with a satisfactory driving record
CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
Preferred Qualifications
A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience
Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training
