The Senior Director of Behavior at ASPCA will lead the behavioral care and strategic planning for the ARC and CARE programs, ensuring the health and welfare of animals. This role involves overseeing a team of behavior specialists, collaborating on research projects, and providing high-quality care to animals in need.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure high-quality, low-stress patient and population care
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Lead and facilitate research projects related to animal behavior
Mentor behavior specialists and other staff
Collaborate with various teams within the organization
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
Experience with behaviorally and medically compromised animals
Comfortable with humane euthanasia decisions
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Low Stress Handling – Silver certified or can obtain certification
Preferred Qualifications
