Connect patients with community resources, providing ongoing support for healthcare, housing, job assistance, and continued treatment. Support patients as they re-integrate with family, friends, and external communities. Serve as a patient advocate, encouraging self-advocacy and providing guidance. At residential facilities, perform Recovery Specialist duties, including monitoring patients, documentation, and patient care support. Peer Recovery Specialist Certification through the MN Certification Board (MCB), or a current credential from an approved certification body demonstrating expertise in ethics and boundaries, culturally based approaches, community resources, advocacy, mentoring, education, and recovery/wellness support. High school diploma or equivalent. Ongoing supervision provided by an alcohol and drug counselor or certified individual approved by the commissioner, as provided by EOSIS. Minimum of one year in recovery with continued freedom from chemical use problems. Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities without direct supervision. Basic computer skills, including the ability to draft emails, memos, and reports.
