Job Description

As a Hospital Admissions Representative, you will play a crucial role in obtaining and verifying patient information and insurance eligibility, ensuring accurate billing and clinical records. This full-time position involves varied shifts and requires strong customer service skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and verify demographic information and insurance eligibility
  • Assign correct medical record and account numbers
  • Document and manage data entry for admissions
  • Notify patients and families of coverage issues
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and insurance regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Complete shift duties accurately and timely

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0-1 year experience in a medical or customer service setting
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 CWPM
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to obtain AVADE training within 30 days

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of ED admitting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Great organizational and interpersonal skills
