Job Description
Join Mount Carmel as a Cook, where you will prepare and distribute food to patients, the cafeteria, and catering services. Work in a supportive environment dedicated to exceptional patient care and colleague well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain appropriate ingredients from storage for recipes
Lift and carry medium to heavy food and equipment
Plan cooking schedule to ensure food is ready at specified times
Confer with dietitians regarding modified diet preparation
Review menu and special orders for types and quantities of food items
Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High school Graduate or 1-year equivalent experience in commercial production food service
Basic math skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Food handlers’ certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant work experience in a hospital setting, large institution, or commercial kitchen
Effective communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of large quantity standards of cooking
Knowledge of food preparation by recipe
