A Day in the Life of the QA Automation Engineer

As a QA Automation Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring high-quality, reliable software delivery. You’ll build automated test suites, troubleshoot bugs, and validate performance using tools like Selenium, Python, and Postman. You’ll collaborate daily with developers and QA teammates to prevent defects and maintain a smooth user experience across the customer-facing applications.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and building automation test suites using Python and Selenium
• Running and maintaining manual test plans when needed
• Organizing and managing test documentation in TestRail
• Using tools like Postman to validate APIs and backend services
• Working closely with developers to reproduce, track, and resolve bugs
• Collaborating on project scope, strategy, and QA best practices
• Participating in agile/scrum ceremonies and development sprints
• Providing detailed reporting and documentation of testing outcomes

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python
• 3+ years of experience with Selenium
• 3+ years of experience with automating test scenarios
• Comfortable performing manual testing when required
• Experience with full stack development using Python and modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue
• 1+ year of experience with AWS or another cloud service for deploying applications or infrastructure
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodology
