Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRSCT/CBSPD) – Mid Shift
Location: Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) – Arlington, VA
Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour | 15:00 – 23:30 | Monday–Friday
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Start Date: ASAP
Position Overview:
Seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support a busy hospital surgical services department. The tech will be responsible for decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies across all service lines. Must demonstrate efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble surgical instrument trays and case carts accurately per pick sheets.
- Utilize instrument tracking systems (Censitrac preferred).
- Decontaminate, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using steam and low-temperature sterilization processes.
- Monitor and document quality checks for cleaning and sterilization equipment.
- Run dispatch phone and coordinate pickup/delivery of instruments and supplies.
- Support all service lines, including Orthopedics, Neuro, General (laparoscopic), Robotics, ENT, Ophthalmology, GYN, Urology, Plastics, Cardiac, and Podiatry.
Required Qualifications:
- Certification: CRSCT or CBSPD (required); CIS certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of central sterile processing experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Censitrac or similar instrument tracking software.
- Other Requirements:
- Willingness to rotate weekends and holidays.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Must hold an active Virginia license (no pending licenses accepted).
- Must be smoke/nicotine-free .
Vaccination Requirements:
