Key Responsibilities
Manage existing and emerging risks from business activities
Adjust moderately complex bodily injury claims
Confirm coverage and make liability decisions
Investigate loss details and negotiate settlements
Document investigation and settlement decisions
Manage claims workload and keep members informed
Collaborate with team members for issue resolution
Direct vendors and internal partners for claims resolution
Support in workload surges and Catastrophe Operations
Act as an informal resource for less experienced team members
Required Qualifications
High School or General Equivalency Diploma
1 year of injury adjusting experience
2 years of auto liability claims adjusting experience
Deep knowledge of auto claims contracts, case law, and state laws
Proficient negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated time-management and decision-making skills
Proven investigatory and problem-solving skills
Proficient knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology for bodily injury claims
Ability to exercise sound financial judgment
Proficient knowledge of coverage evaluation, loss assessment, and loss reserving
Acquire and maintain insurance adjuster license within 90 days
Preferred Qualifications
4 or more years of auto liability/casualty adjusting experience
1 year of medical experience including coding and billing or EMT
Ongoing Professional Development focused on Insurance
Bachelor's degree or higher
US military experience or military spouse/domestic partner
