• Shift: 12 Hour Nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/3/2026)
• Number of Positions: 2
• Call: 2 call shifts every 6 weeks
• Average Deliveries: 700-800 per year
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2, acuity dependent
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kentucky or compact state (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (required)
• Strong L&D and LDRP experience preferred
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications (required or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
• AWHONN certification preferred
• Ability to circulate during deliveries
• EKG exam required
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred
• Recent OB, ED, or critical care nursing experience preferred

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for laboring mothers and newborns
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Support breastfeeding and discharge planning
• Perform electronic fetal monitoring and vaginal exams
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Model cultural sensitivity and inclusion in patient care
• Respond effectively in emergency situations
