Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week

 

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery provides skilled, compassionate care to obstetric patients throughout the childbirth process. The RN will manage high- and low-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, assisting with labor, delivery, recovery, and neonatal care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Unit Details

  • Charting Systems: Meditech and GE
  • Patient Ratio: AWONN standards
  • Common Cases: C-sections (nurses scrub in), high-risk OB, mag patients, and fast-paced deliveries
  • Support: Scrub techs, in-house hospitalist coverage 3 nights/week, RT and pharmacy 24/7
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (days); 3 shifts in a 4-week period
  • Holiday Policy: Travelers do not work holidays
  • Floating: May assist in OB or nursery (no patient assignments)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience
  • Active RN license (New York State)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Strong high-risk OB and fast-paced environment experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN (required by facility)
