Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (Contract)

Location: Castro Valley, CA

Start Date: December 1, 2025

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Neuro ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Castro Valley, California. This role supports a high-acuity neurocritical care unit and requires advanced clinical expertise in neurological patient management. Candidates must have at least one year of dedicated Neuro ICU experience reflected in their application.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized care to patients with neurological conditions in a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and manage patients with acute brain injuries, strokes, seizures, and post-neurosurgical recovery
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
• Float as needed to ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience, including at least 1 year in Neuro ICU
• Active California RN license
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must be available to work every other weekend

• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a reduced bill rate
• All licenses and certifications must be in hand at time of submission
• Candidates must be flexible and able to float to qualified units as needed
