Job Overview:
A leading industrial automation firm is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for custom automation projects. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions while mentoring junior engineers and staying ahead of industry advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative control systems for automation solutions.

  • Program and develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to meet project requirements.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues in a timely manner.

  • Lead project execution, including design, testing, commissioning, and installation.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to align on goals and deliverables.

  • Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.

  • Remain current on trends, tools, and technologies in industrial automation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in control systems engineering.

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Yaskawa).

  • Experience with SCADA/HMI development and Cognex vision systems (PC and hardware-based).

  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).

  • Familiarity with designing for Category 3 and 4 Safety systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel for system installations and startups.
