📍 Facility & Unit Details

• Unit: Med Surg / Tele
• Beds: 90 (double occupancy)
• Location Rule: Must reside within 100 miles
• EMR: Epic (must have used within past 2 years )

📋 Requirements

• Licensure & Experience:
  • RN License – Active
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years RN, 1 year in Med Surg/Tele specialty
• Certifications:
  • Required: BLS
  • Preferred: ACLS
• Epic Proficiency: Required (recent use mandatory)

🏥 Patient & Unit Info

• Nurse-Patient Ratios:
  • Days: 1:5–6
  • Nights: 1:6
• Common Diagnoses:
  • Pneumonia, COPD, radiation therapy, AKI, lap chole, appy
• Drips: Heparin & Lasix gtt (non-titrated)
• Charge Nurse: Present; may take patients
• Support Staff:
  • PCAs: Yes (approx. 8–12 pts per PCA)
  • Monitor Techs: Yes (travelers do not need to read tele)
• RT Equipment: BiPAP, stable trach patients

⏰ Scheduling

• Shift Times: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Call: Low census on-call
• Blocked Scheduling: Not allowed
• RTO Limit: Max 5 days
• 48hr Guarantee: Not offered

🚨 Floating

• May float to:
  • Other Med Surg units
  • Stable, low-acuity patients in ICU
  • RDU (Renal Dialysis Unit)
  • Foothills Clinic RDU

👕 Dress Code

• Scrubs: Navy Blue

🧑‍🏫 Orientation

• 3 shifts total:
  1. NEO (Non-clinical orientation)
  2. Clinical Education & Epic Training
  3. 1 Floor shift (unit-specific)
