The Medical-Surgical RN provides direct and individualized nursing care to adult patients recovering from surgery or experiencing a variety of acute medical conditions. This nurse collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Clinical Duties:
- Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and detect changes in condition.
- Administer medications, IVs, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Provide wound care, catheterization, and other nursing procedures.
- Assist patients with mobility, hygiene, nutrition, and daily activities.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, post-discharge care, and medication regimens.
Care Coordination:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers.
- Ensure timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
