What will you do?
- Create weekly dining room menus from personal or established recipes
- Prepare food for our team members in our dining room kitchen
- Supervise food prep and proper breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and food storage while maintaining food quality, presentation, and sanitation standards
- Ensure food preperation complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures, ensuring proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly, the freshness and quality of all menu items, and packages all products to proper specifications, ensuring Delaware North's quality standards, policies and procedures are maintained
- Maintain food cost within parameters set by culinary leadership
More about you
- No college degree required
- At least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor
- Ability to effectively communicate with others in a leadership capacity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be attentive, and detail oriented
- Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions
Physical requirements
- Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids
- Ability to carry 30 pounds and lift and carry large pans weighing up to 50 pounds
- Standing and walking for entire length of shift, with ability to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, and bend down
