Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll support veterinary care for underserved communities. Lead a dynamic team, ensure quality animal care, and make a significant impact in the lives of pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and medical protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s and performance evaluations
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Ensure all team members implement low-stress handling techniques
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
