The Technologist performs specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and electrophysiology procedures. They serve as a resource to clinical staff and collaborate with the intra-procedure team to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.
Essential ResponsibilitiesConducts specialized cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular, and electrophysiology procedures.
Serves as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff to ensure optimal utilization of skills.
Collaborates with the procedure team to provide safe patient care and participates in Universal Protocol and site marking identification.
Assists with patient identification, preparation, draping, and room setup for procedures. Reviews physician orders and selects equipment in accordance with protocols, regulations, and Parkland standards.
Maintains, calibrates, and troubleshoots equipment, performing preventive maintenance and instructing technologists on operation of special procedures equipment.
Identifies opportunities to improve work processes and patient satisfaction; implements recommendations as approved.
Maintains knowledge of developments and trends in cardiovascular technology, integrating best practices into daily work.
Ensures compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and accreditation standards related to cardiovascular technology.
Minimum 1 year experience in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases – Required
ARRT or RCIS – Required
ACLS & BLS – Required
State of TX Medical Radiologic License – Required
